Matthew’s Gospel – A New Sermon Series

If you missed church this past weekend, you missed the formal announcement of our new sermon series which will begin this coming Sunday morning.  You can see the title of the series in the graphic above:  ”Matthew’s Gospel:  Knowing Jesus Like Never Before.”  It’s been pretty commonly circulated that we’re doing Matthew, but we hadn’t officially announced it & given you your instructions regarding it until this past weekend.

Our series will begin this Sunday with a message dealing with why we’re approaching this project & some introductory & background material for the gospel of Matthew.  The following Sunday, June 26, we’ll begin expositing the texts, starting with Matthew 1:1-17.  On Sunday, I asked the body to please take these next two weeks to read over the entire book of Matthew, so you’ll have a general familiarity with the overall content of the book.  Also, if you have a study Bible that has introductory material for Matthew, it would be great if you’d look that over as well.

I am SO incredibly excited to begin this journey with all of you!  God is going to build up our church in some amazing ways as we go deep in His word over the course of this study.  I love you very much, & I look forward to seeing you at Wednesday night prayer meeting & Sunday morning worship.
