Equipping Christians to do their part in World Evangelism
Oswald Chambers once said that, “ The special person called to do missionary work is every person who is a member of the (Body) of Christ. The call is not for a chosen few, it is to everyone of us.”
In Ephesians 4:11-12 Evangelists are described as those who equip the saints for the works of service. We Believe every person in The Body of Christ has a role to play in missions and
evangelism. It’s our job to help equip team members the Lord sends to us to effectively share the Gospel and their Testimony. Many Christians fear sharing their faith, or just don’t know to share. Our mission trips are designed to both encourage all members to develop boldness in sharing anywhere, and to discover how they already have been prepared for the work.
What we do:
Evangelistic Expeditions Missions are designed to help believers develop boldness through simple missionary training. Team members will have the opportunity to share with thousands of students and adults. Schools and public plazas provide excellent opportunities for expedition members to share the gospel with those who are hungry to hear the truth or have never heard the good news. Preaching the gospel is the single focus of this overseas short-term outreach. We use the “Clean Heart Tract” and the “Gospel Bracelet” to convey the message.
Where we do it:
Our expeditions are mainly to Brazil and South America. A door for our ministry has been opened there. First time members and veterans alike marvel at the openness of the people to the message of Jesus Christ. In the future other parts of the world may be included as doors open.
Who may go:
We organize and develop trips for Church groups, Sunday School classes or trips composed of believers from different churches. This mission work is designed for adult believers, and teams are limited to no more that one-third teenagers. Any teenager desiring to go must be over the age of 16 or be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. It is understood that team members must be Born Again, and that they carry an equal share of the preaching and testimony responsibilities regardless of age. Whenever possible a first time team member will be teamed up with an experienced member. Our training is designed to encourage perspective team members to trust in the Lord for direction, and to trust for His provision for the trip. The age old problem is not that the Lord doesn’t have the resources to send us on a trip, but that He doesn’t have enough workers (Mark 9:37&38). We have seen God do many miracles through the years in the area of provision. One such testimony follows:
God spoke to the heart of a believing wife in 1988 about going on a mission trip. Her unbelieving husband hatefully gave his permission to go on the trip thinking God would not provide, and added “don’t expect me to give one dime towards the cost of the trip.” In the end after God provided two-thirds her trip cost her husband gave the final third of the trip cost! While his wife was in Brazil on the trip he finally gave his life to Christ.
